Instagram will be coming up with a new set of features and tools that aims to make it easier for influencers to make more money. These include a branded content marketplace, along with affiliate income opportunities and creator shops. The announcement was made by Mark Zuckerberg while doing a live stream with Adam Mosseri, Instagram chief.

Creator Shops will be an addition to the existing shopping features of the social media platform. “We see a lot of creators setting up shops too, and one part of being a content creator business model is you create great content, and then you can sell stuff, and so having creator shops is awesome,” Zuckerberg said.

With the Branded Content Marketplace, Instagram aims to provide a seamless platform for influencers to meet sponsors. Zuckerberg also informed about Instagram’s efforts to provide its Instagram stars with tools to make money by promoting products. “(Creators) should be able to get a cut of the sales of things that they’re recommending and we should build up an affiliate recommendation marketplace to enable that to all happen.”
