Job description
We’re searching for an experienced technical writer to join our team and help take our client-focused services to new heights. As an ideal candidate, you have proven experience in a highly technical field, such as software development, computer science, or engineering. Your ability to evaluate and analyze complex information is second to none, and you have a natural desire to help people understand things that are hard to understand.

We’re looking for a creative thinker with excellent writing and research skills who will be responsible for collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate, grammatically correct and user-friendly documents are available across our company. These will include software documentation, Web page content, Product Specification Documents (PSDs), forms and templates, process documentation, and more besides.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive technical and non-technical documentation that meets organizational standards
  • Obtain a deep understanding of our products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content
  • Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement
  • Research, outline, write and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand requirements for relevant documentation
  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, software, and process documentation
  • Determine and implement the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage for easy access and updating
  • Review and/or edit documents and content developed by other members of the team, ensure it is grammatically correct and written in a user-friendly manner
  • Proofread documents and ensure grammatical accuracy on all internal documents, client project content, and Web pages
  • Support Project Managers and Business Analysts in the creation of Product Specification
  • Documents (PSDs) and the development of personas and user stories
  • Provide correct and relevant information/content for clients on their landing pages and help in proofreading of the existing or client provided content

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or Communications
  • 3-5 years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics and technologies
  • Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar
  • Experience working with software development teams to improve user experience and help refine Web content
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization
  • Strong creative thinking skills and ability to think conceptually
  • Comfortable working independently with a little direction under tight deadlines
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
