About the job

Our team needs a talented and experienced writer to craft and edit content for our outreach, internal communication, publications, social/digital platforms and the website. The writer will also work in close collaboration with the designers, communications colleagues to produce additional social media, photography, video, media relations and marketing content and with Sai University’s team of Staff and faculty to create clear and concise copy to get the brand message across. Qualified candidates must be strong writers with a proven ability to create compelling content for a variety of audiences. A versatility and enthusiasm for adapting to new writing styles and writing for an array of age groups, constituencies and goals is also key.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, English or a related field or Any Postgraduate degree or equivalent
7 – 9 years of related experience in strategic communications, issues management and media relations in a complex organization or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Proven experience as a content writer in outreach/marketing/advertising/journalism or a related field
Experience collaborating with other creative professionals, such as photographers, videographers, and marketing and social media specialists.
Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual ability and originality
Should ideally have experience of working with a design partner on visualizing concepts and then penning them down based on the brief
A story-driven and seasoned content strategist with strong content development and content marketing skills.
A strong understanding of content marketing across all digital channels with a strong understanding of brand and visual communication.
Deep experience in creating and managing written and visual content aligned with how end users want to receive it.
Experience from a publication of repute and or a ad agency (copy writer)is preferred.
Knowledge of online content strategy and creation
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
Strong research skills, creativity, collaborative spirit
Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
Excellent time-management and organizational skills
Experience with SEO friendly copy is an added advantage
Experience in a fast-paced corporate environment, agency experience a plus.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a writer, the content should be:

1. 100% original and free from plagiarism,

2. Free from all sorts of spelling and grammatical errors,

3. Cohesive, accurate and precise,

4. Well-structured, easy to read and attention-grasping,

5. Well-researched, highly informative and interesting to read,

6. Free-flowing, with keywords written in a natural manner.

Executive writer

Assist with researching and crafting communications, including correspondence, formal speeches, reports, presentations, and collateral materials primarily for the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor and other senior university officials as directed.
Work closely with the Director's office to ensure mutual alignment with institutional messages, themes, and priorities
Content Creation and Reporting

Responsible for producing creative, story-driven content for distribution across multiple print and digital channels that aligns with Sai University’s brand strategy and enhances the University’s reputation
Produce, edit and proofread content that follows university brand guidelines, university editorial style and Associated Press (AP) style.
Communicate value propositions and drive awareness, engagement and action across internal- and external-facing communications.
Flexibility to produce a variety of content, including advertising, news articles, short and long feature content, web content and more.
Reports on campus activities and news for web content, including events
Create and refresh content for channels, including website, email, brochures, postcards, posters, magazines, videos, advertisements, digital signage, etc.
Using and maintaining the correct tone of voice consistent with the brand guidelines
Have an in-depth understanding of the target audience
Content Marketing Operations

Working across departments at the university to write and edit creative materials for promotions and direct marketing
Collaborate on marketing objectives that help accomplish Sai University’s strategic plan.
Collaborate with designers, PR and other professionals on large-and small-scale marketing projects (e.g. email campaigns, landing pages, social media projects, print ads, brochures, prospectus etc.)
Conduct article interviews via phone, email, video and in person.
Establish relationships across campus; follow marketing processes.
Editorial Review and Design

Serves as editor on materials produced for Sai University
Pitch creative stories and campaign concepts during editorial meetings.
Works closely with the design team on visual assets to ensure brand consistency.
Serve as a quality assurance writing and fact-checking technician.
